Companies Getting Rid of 'Blockchain' Parlance: Report

Forrester Research issued a new report indicating the buzzword "blockchain" is losing favor to the more descriptive "distributed ledger technology." So reports Fortune.

The report suggests some companies have found the term, which refers to a technology that creates theoretically tamper-proof records, to be over-hyped. It also indicates some networks are too liberal when describing their characteristics with many repackaging services. A Google search for the term “blockchain” will return 215 million websites, compared to 1.3 million for the search term “distributed ledger technology,”
