Amazon Nabs Blockchain Patents with New Filings

Retailer Amazon has filed for, and received, two new "blockchain-related" patents. So reports Cryptovest.

The patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office relate to expandable data grids and cryptographic signatures. One is related to the "efficient verification of a large amount of data and is fundamental to blockchain technology" and the other is related to a "new method for creating extendable shards in a database." In April, the company was also approved for a patent for a data-stream marketplace making it easier for law enforcement and government to track Bitcoin users.
