What Topics WIll Fall Fintech Conferences Cover?

As is often the case in emerging fields, networking, idea sharing, and sometimes, commiserating, are commonplace. The fintech sector is no different. There are a number of conferences scheduled across the globe aimed at tackling some of the most pressing problems facing those in the financial technology game as well as offering an avenue for innovators and deal-makers to share their thoughts with one another.

One such conference, FinovateFall 2019, takes place from Sept. 23 to Sept. 25, in New York City, with an extra summit day immediately following. It will bring together more than 1,500 “influencers,” 120 expert speakers and feature more than 70 live demonstrations, according to the organizers. Banking, wealth management, regtech, payments and artificial intelligence are among some of the topics that will be discussed at the event.

“Finovate is a great platform for learning about emerging technologies to gain a competitive advantage and deliver the products and services your customers deserve,” wrote Angie Crosby, assistant vice president for the Pen Air Federal Credit Union in the event’s promotional materials. The event’s keynote speaker will be Sean Ginevan, head of Global Strategy and Market Enablement at Google. Ginevan has been tasked with developing a market strategy, “go-to-market programs,” and “partner enablement” for Andriod with respect to its enterprise businesses.

“Sean is an expert in the intersection of mobility and security--his views have been featured in major media outlets including Entrepreneur, SC Magazine and Re/Code and he has spoken at dozens of major events around the world,” reads information from his bio. His presentation, “WEB VS NATIVE: Choosing the right approach for your digital journey in FinTech,” will help attendees sort out the best approach for their unique “digital transformation efforts,” according to the FinovateFall 2019 website. “You’ll understand the tradeoffs for each technology, and we’ll discuss best practices on which architectures fit the needs for projects in your organization.”

That session will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 10:10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

In addition to Finovate, fintech pros have several other conferences to look forward to. One such event is the Lend360 event, which takes place on Sept. 25 to Sept. 27. It boasts being the online lending industry’s “one and only conference for the industry, by the industry.”

“It’s time to get savvy to exclusive online lending insights, expand your business and connect with influencers shaping the fintech industry,” reads the website for the Dallas event. And, Moneyconf, taking place in Lisbon, Portugal from Nov. 4 to Nov. 7, will bring together leading fintech startups, banks and tech firms. “This track sits at the intersection of finance and technology. Join us as we examine how tech is changing the fibre of one of the world’s oldest industries,” according to its site.
