Square Could See Major Competition After First Data Buyout

In a move to likely give "heavyweights" like Square some real competition, fintech company Fiserv, which handles credit card swipes payments, bought rival First Data for $22 billion. So reports The Hustle.

First Data's technology is used by approximately 6 million vendors. Fiserv and Big Data are "old" companies, but their shared resources could mean an increase in competition in the banking and payment process arena filled with both established entities and newcomers.
