'LongFi' Hotspots Set to Drive Down Wireless Internet Costs

Blockchain startup Helium launched the national sale of Hotspot, which aims to reimagine networking for “low-powered devices” while also offering cryptocurrency rewards. So reports Forbes.

The company also announced a $15 million Series C round of fundraising. The product differs from other mobile hotspots in that it can extend 200 times farther than traditional WiFi connections. Further, owners could sell the use of their connection for the Helium digital currency.
