The letter, which comes from the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s Center for Scientific Evidence, said blockchain architecture is insufficient to address fundamental remote voting issues, and in fact, could create a “larger attack surface.” The letter is signed by computing and cybersecurity experts and is rooted in research from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine and other organizations.
