Patent Office Denies Applications from AI, Says Only People Are Eligible

A new ruling from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office decrees artificial intelligence systems will not be eligible for credit as patent inventors. So reports The Verge.

The office said patent laws’ use of words like “herself” and “himself” indicated inventors need to be human, according to the article.
