Global telecommunications company Vodafone has teamed up with Energy Web, a blockchain startup, in order to connect “billions of distributed energy generating assets” with distributed ledger technology and the internet-of-things. So reports Cointelegraph.
This would allow batteries, wind turbines, solar panels and heat pumps to integrate “safely and efficiently” into energy grids. Vodafone has recently made a number of blockchain related moves and last year identified more than 20 uses for the technology.
