Varo Closes Series D, Eyes First National Charter for Digital Bank

Varo Money, Inc. recently closed a $241 million Series D funding round as it looks to become the first completely digital bank to obtain a national charter. So reports The San Francisco Times.

bono paul david hewson 434945 640The mobile banking app now has more than $419 million in funding, per reports. The newest round was co-led by existing investor The Rise Fund and new investor Gallatin Point Capital. Gallatin Point features U2 front man Bono and producer Jeff Skoll.
