The hackers took over the "about" section of the site for about an hour. The hackers claimed that the president is behind the COVID-19 pandemic and has cooperated "with foreign actors manipulating the 2020 elections."
Representatives from the president’s campaign said despite the hack, though, no sensitive information was accessed.
The hackers provided two separate Monero cryptocurrency addresses where individuals can send the cryptocurrency. One address was for those who wanted the information released and the other for those who wanted it kept secret. Whichever account was higher would determine the outcome of the data.
