SoFi Going Public Through Palihapitiya Shell Company

SoFi is plotting a merger via a special purpose acquisition company backed by Chamath Palihapitiya. So reports CNBC.

SofiThe deal from Palihapitiya, an active venture capitalist who has taken a number of companies public via SPAC, will raise the value of the online finance fintech to $8.65 billion. In the private market, SoFi was valued at approximately $5.7 billion after raising funds from investors like Peter Thiel and SoftBank.
