ByteDance Launched Payments Function Thru Douyin As It Continues Foray Into Fintech

ByteDance, which is owned by TikTok, is launching a new payment service. The new service will operate under the purview of Douyin, which is the Chinese version of the video-sharing TikTok app. So reports CNBC.

BytedanceUsers can now select Douyin Pay in order to make purchases within the app for merchandise and items associated with its videos. “The latest push into both e-commerce and financial technology, or fintech, highlights ByteDance’s desire to expand beyond social networking,” according to the article.
