Europol Arrests Italian Man for Allegedly Contracting Assassin with BTC

An unnamed Italian man was arrested for allegedly using Bitcoin to hire a hitman to assassinate his ex-girlfriend. So reports ZD Net.

bitcoin 3014614 640smallAccording to Europol, the suspect paid approximately €10,000 worth of Bitcoin to an assassin contracted on the dark web. “However, Europol and the Italian Postal and Communication Police apparently caught wind of the plan and an ‘urgent, complex crypto-analysis’ was performed,” according to the article.
