Aspiration Partners, a fintech backed by celebrity stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom and Robert Downey Jr., is planning a $2.3 billion public merger via a “special purpose acquisition company,” also known as a SPAC. So reports Barron’s.
The company will combine with InterPrivate III Financial Partners, the newest SPAC from Ahmed Fattouh, CEO and founder of Landmark Value Investments. The deal will net Aspiration, which plants a tree each time a user swipes one of its cards, more than $400 million.
