Financial Services Committee Chastises 'Screen Scraping,' Considers Legislation  

House Financial Services Committee members appear to be in agreement across party lines with respect to developing stronger protections of consumer financial data utilized by third parties. So reports Roll Call.

Maxine Waters CroppedTo that end, Financial Services Chairwoman Maxine Waters said she has found herself in rare agreement with her Republican counterpart Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer over reigning in a practice that allows the third-party aggregators to access and share data across payment apps, bank accounts and other services. Bipartisan legislation could be on the horizon in light of that agreement, added Waters.
