Plaid Launches Long-awaited Payments Program at Heart of Recent Anti-trust Lawsuit

Fintech startup Plaid is now offering a new payments program to facilitate digital transactions that are funded through user bank accounts. So reports PYMNTS.

PlaidThe new program will allow money to flow freely through third-party processors like SoFi and Square, and users will now be afforded a “pay-by-bank” option at checkout. Prior to the announcement, the Department of Justice blocked an acquisition of Plaid by Visa for fears it was hoping to squash Plaid’s new payment service plan.
