Scrapped Meta Stablecoin Project May Have New Life

In the wake of Facebook’s scrapped stablecoin project, a team of those who worked on the project announced a new plan to take it “into the wild” and possibly breathe life into the Diem blockchain. So reports CoinDesk.

meta g809b88270 640Sources speaking on the condition of anonymity also said the team is looking to raise $200 million with the help of Andreessen Horowitz and other venture firms to that end. While the new project will have large overlap with prior work, non-fungible tokens, rather than cross-border payment, are expected to be the focus.
