Chainalysis: Blockchain Bridges Favorite Target of Hackers in H1 '22

More than $1.9 billion was ripped off as a result of “cross-chain hacks” in the front half of this year. So reports Forbes.

The data, which was compiled by analytics firm Chainalysis, indicates many of the attacks stemmed from code exploitation likely due to the vast number of open-source projects generating these codes. “Bridges’ entire codes are available on GitHub, a hosting service for open code where anyone can inspect them for vulnerabilities,” according to the article.
