Amid Crypto Scams, South Africa Bolsters Consumer Protections

South Africa’s Advertising Regulatory Board is targeting crypto scammers with new language directed at protecting consumers and investors. So reports Cointelegraph.

As such, a new clause was added to the country’s advertising code aimed at ensuring all advertisements are clear and explicit with respect to investment risks. Cryptocurrency advertisements must “expressly and clearly” note crypto investments could lead to losses “as the value is variable and can go up as well as down.”
