DOJ Targets Six Accounts in New Crypto Butchering Scam

The U.S. Department of Justice seized approximately $112 million worth of cryptocurrency from accounts allegedly tied to purported “pig butchering” investment scams. So reports The Register.

Judges in three states issued warrants for the seizure of six accounts prosecutors believe are being used to launder money. The scams allegedly led victims to lose millions of dollars after being “socially engineered” into handing over their savings to the con artists.
