Canadian Pilot Program Puts Fintech Obstacles in the Spotlight

An eight-week distributed ledger technology pilot program operated by Canada’s central bank indicated practically applying the new technology may take time. So reports The Financial Times.

The pilot program was titled Project Jasper Phase 3 and was geared toward transfers between banks. Project leaders said, though, the experiment led to a number of questions about the application of the new tech, specifically with respect to regulatory and legal obstacles. The experiment was limited to securities settlements.
