Researchers ID 4,800 ‘Pump-and-Dump’ Attempts from Jan-July

Dishonest traders have attempted nearly 5,000 “pump-and-dump” schemes from January to July, according to a new research paper. So reports MyBroadband.

The report was generated from information on Telegram and Discord, a messaging app used by the cryptocurrecncy community. The report states the scale of the fraud is “widespread” and “quite profitable.” The research was conducted by academics at the University of Tulsa, Tel Aviv University and University of New Mexico.
