Security Firm IDs Fraudulent Cryto Apps on Google Play

Researchers believe they found fraudulent apps on Google Play, with one specifically designed to steal cryptocurrency. So report’s TechCrunch.

The security firm ESET said one app impersonated the hardware cryptocurrency wallet Trezor. The two suspicious apps were downloaded collectively more than 1,000 times, but were pulled once ESET contacted Google.
